Many people have asked me in the past, why do Jews send mishloach manot on Purim? I answered them that, it has been customary to send Purim gifts to friends and strangers on Purim because it is counteracting the accusations of Haman. See, the Torah states that Haman accused the Jewish people of being “a scattered, and divided nation.” So, because of this the Jewish people send gifts to each other in order to show that they are NOT divided! But rather are ultimately united. And, when we send mishloach manot to our family and friends, it brings joy, happiness, peace and harmony to our fractured Jewish communities. With that said, may we only live a life of midot and simchot.

For those who know Esther personally, you know that she has been crafting, designing, and styling for many years (including the many years she created, designed and sold her own gift sets and stationary art work to classmates in junior high and high school!!). It is clear that Esther has a flair to create and design pretty much anything that strikes her eye, but most importantly, she has the PASSION needed for this business.

In 2008, she began creating and designing her mishloach manot collection with fun and unique themes, and sold them to the Los Angeles community. There was nothing like it before, until she introduced it to the community. Since then, her designs and products have been POPULAR and on HIGH demand on PURIM and throughout the year.

This was a very difficult decision for us, but we hope that this tough decision will result in safeguarding the health and safety of our families, friends and customers this Purim.💗

2020 EMOJIO MishloachManot Design

"TIME TO GET EMOJIONAL!"

Purim is one of my favorite Jewish holidays! But, before I get to party on Purim, I have to create a unique design for our mishloach manot. So, this year, I was inspired by all the EMOJI faces used on a daily basis when communicating with my husband, family and friends. EMOJIS have become a very popular form of communication for everyone and has become a huge part of our culture. In fact, "10 billion of emojis are sent daily" according to gofisher. No matter the level of education or where you were born, EMOJIS speak to us in a language well understood by all of us. And not only do they increase our personal relationships when we send each other love emojis like kisses, hugs, hearts, etc., they also increase our social and business engagements. So, it was the perfect theme to design this year for Purim because my goal was to bring us together with a common form of communication which is EMOJIS and MISHLOACH MANOT.

It was also interesting to discover while creating and crafting this year's EMOJI design that, there is an award celebration that recognizes the most popular EMOJI! LOL! Have we gone coo coo for EMOJIS?

Last year, the most popular emoji was the thinking emoji face. In fact, EMOJIS have gotten so popular that there is a holiday named after them, the "World Emoji Day" held on July 17! Go figure. Also, in case you didn't know, there are currently "3,019 official emojis" and new ones are released in the month of love... February. EMOJIS have been around since 1999! And according to Arielle Pardes, senior writer at WIRED, the first emoji was generated by a Japanese artist named Shigetaka Kurita (to learn more about the world of EMOJI visit https://emojipedia .org/ ). As the world of EMOJI evolves alongside electronic advances, EMOJIS will follow along taking new shapes, forms and platforms, and they will continue to be part of our daily lives. So, may the world of EMOJI live on by celebrating EMOJI STYLE thisPURIM with our unique EMOJI mishloach manot.

2019 Flamingo Mishloach Manot Design

“STAND TALL, STAND OUT & FLAMING AROUND TOWN! IT’S PURIM TIME!”

Esther Bengio, the founder and co-owner of www.bonbononwheels.com was very inspired by a very famous bird this year. No, not big bird, but rather the Flamingo.

Flamingos have been a very popular bird among humans for centuries and they have been part of everyone’s culture. They have been incorporated into homes, offices, baby rooms, wardrobes and much more. After learning about the popularity of these birds, Esther entrusted her judgment and incorporated the flamingo's beauty, style, fashion and delicacy into this years Mishloach Manos design.

Clearly, there is so much to learn from these delicate and beautiful birds! From how they get that beautiful PINK color feathers, to the way they stand and how they behave are just a few things that caught Esther’s attention and then, she realized, there are so many ways we can mimic this exotic bird and live like a flamingo.

LET’S BE LIKE FLAMINGOS THIS PURIM

What we can learn from these beauties is to stand tall and look beautiful while balancing life's curb-balls. Stay well groomed and DO NOT be afraid to stand out among pigeons. 2018 CASINO NIGHT Mishloach Manot Design

Every year Esther Bengio get's inspired to create and design different mishloach manot themed designs to bring excitement to her customers. And living in Las Vegas, it is easy to get inspired by everything around her! So, this year, her inspiration came from her husband's and her favorite game... You guessed it! POKER! Who doesn't LOVE the Queen of Hearts and the King of Spades?

Every Tuesday they go out on a date and visit their local casino and gamble $5.00 whole dollars in a nickle machine. It is not the money they gamble, it is the fun they have taking turns with their luck! They always come out as WINNERS because the quality of time spent is all worth it for them! So, she found that sharing this story with her customers, will spire them to setup date nights and enjoy every moment shared together.

FUN FACT: An interesting fact about playing cards is that specially-constructed decks were sent to American soldiers who were being held in German camps during World War II. The United States Playing Card Company collaborated with the government in the production of these cards. What made these cards so unique was, once they became wet, they peeled apart.
